Abstract

PBP-CMU-Linac group is one of research group at Plasma and Beam Physics (PBP) research facility, Department of Physics and Materials Science, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Our research group aims to generate electron beam for THz radiation as a source of THz imaging and THz spectroscopy system. The main components of electron beam generation system consist of S-band thermionic cathode RF-gun, RF system, α - magnet and Slac-type linear accelerator. The THz radiation can be generated inform of coherent transition radiation and future FEL. Recently, we just started new project using electron beam irradiation for high quality vocalization of natural rubber. The electron beam generation system have the main components consisting of DC thermionic electron gun, 5-cell accelerating structure, RF system and electron beam irradiation system. This accelerator system aims to generate adjustable electron beam energy range from 0.5 to 4.0 MeV with pulse current of 10 - 100 mA and pulse repetition rate of 20 - 400 Hz. The present research status and future plan of our group will be present.
