Abstract

I will describe the conceptual difficulties of the Standard Model description of the Higgs Boson. To repair these difficulties, we will need new particles and forces that have not yet been discovered. There are two distinct approaches to the construction of models of the Higgs Boson and the Higgs field, one based on the idea that this field is elementary, the other based on the idea that this field is composite. I will describe these approaches and the current status of their experimental tests.
