Abstract

A short review on the present proposals for future colliders in High Energy Physics is presented. A more specific discussion on the Linear Collider is performed for both options: the International Linear Collider (ILC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). The physics case, accelerator technology, detector development and overall situation of the Linear Collider projects is described in detail. In particular the current situation of the ILC and its possible realization as being hosted in Japan is also analysed.
