Abstract

In this lecture I will discuss various known fundamental forces of Nature, highlighting their differences and their origins. Recently the naive observation that the gravity is peculiar among the known forces is promoted to more fundamental requirements originating from quantum gravity, in the form of the so-called swampland conjectures. I will discuss some conjectures and recent speculations in this area. The bulk of my talk will be technically elementary.
