Abstract

An ever-growing number of experiments is exploring the landscape of axion models, finally reaching sensitivity to most of the phenomenologically preferred parameter space. This talk will discuss advances in mapping the band of hadronic axion models and the experimental implications. I will argue that modern statistical analysis techniques can help us to extract the maximal amount of information from the available wealth of data and learn about axion model parameters. Narrowing down to solar and dark matter axion searches, I will then entertain the consequences of an axion discovery. In particular, I will mention strategies to better understand the UV structure of axion models and enable their use as probes for studying astrophysical systems.
