The 1st announcement of the HYP2015 conference
The 12th International Conference on Hypernuclear and Strange Particle Physics (HYP2015) will take place at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, from September 7 (Mon) through 12 (Sat), 2015.
HYP2015 will be the twelfth one in the series of HYP conferences initiated in 1982 in Heidelberg and held periodically every three years, following the successful 11th HYP conference in Barcelona in 2012. The HYP conference brings together theoreticians and experimentalists working on hadron and nuclear physics with strangeness. The topics of the HYP conference have been extended to related fields such as low-energy aspects of QCD, dense and cold matter, as well as hadronic and nuclear systems with heavier flavors.
The main part of the HYP2015 conference will be held from Monday morning to Friday around noon at the Tohoku University Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall) located in the city of Sendai, where plenary and contributed talks as well as poster sessions will take place. Then it will be followed by “discussion session” at a hot spring hotel in Sakunami near Sendai from the late afternoon on Friday until Saturday morning with a limited number of (about 100) participants.
The scientific program will be organized under the following topics:
- Production, structure and decay of hypernuclei
- Multistrange systems
- Production of strangeness
- Interactions of mesons and baryons with strangeness
- Strangeness in hadron structure
- Strange mesons in nuclei
- Strangeness in astrophysics and in extreme forms of matter
- Heavy flavor systems
- Hypernuclei in heavy ion collisions
- Future experiments and facilities
The conference (Mon-Fri) comprises invited talks in the plenary and parallel sessions, and contributed papers in the parallel and poster sessions. In addition, a few special sessions will be held on specific subjects selected by IAC and OC.
The oral presentations in the parallel sessions will be selected from the contributed abstracts. Call for abstract will be announced on April 1st.
Tohoku University Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall) in the Kawauchi Campus, Tohoku University. The plenary session will take place at the main auditorium and the parallel sessions and the poster session at the other meeting rooms.
Address: 40 Kawauchi, Aoba-ku, Sendai 980-8576, Japan
Discussion Session at Sakunami
In order to deepen scientific discussions among HYP2015 participants, we recommend you, particularly those from abroad, to also attend the discussion session at Sakunami though the maximum number of participants is limited. The participants in the discussion session will move by bus to the hot spring hotel, Ichi-No-Bo in Sakunami in the suburb of Sendai, and stay there for one night together (we will arrange shared rooms in Futon style for participants. For special room arrangements, please contact to the organizers). The participants will enjoy hot spring bath and a special dinner in Japanese style. We will have plenty of time for discussions in relaxed atmosphere. The participants will go back to Sendai city by train after breakfast on Saturday.
On line registration will start on April 1st, 2015.
The early registration fee is 40,000 yen, which covers the reception, the excursion, the banquet and the proceedings. A reduced registration fee of 30,000 yen is offered for students. Early registration ends on June 30th, 2015. The registration fee after July 1st is 50,000 yen for regular participants and 40,000 yen for students. Payment should be done in yen via major credit cards through the web page when you make registration. For those who have not made registration but want to participate in the conference, we also accept cash in yen at the registration desk upon arrival.
In addition, participants in the discussion session in Sakunami need to pay 15,000 yen per person for the hot-spring hotel lodging including dinner and breakfast.
After early April, participants can reserve a hotel room as well as register to HYP2015 through the JTB web site which will be linked from the HYP2015 web site. A sufficient number of rooms are blocked at
Arc Hotel Sendai
which is located in the downtown Sendai and one of the closest hotels to the conference venue, 10 minutes’ walk to the venue. Room assignment will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Many other hotels are available in the downtown and near the Sendai station. (Other hotels can be also booked from the JTB web site: Hotel Metropolitan Sendai, Washington Hotel, Pearl City Hotel, etc.). Foreign participants are recommended to book a room in those hotels through the JTB web site after early April.
The participants in the discussion session must stay at the Ichi-No-Bo hotel at night on Friday. The room reservation at Sakunami can be made only through the HYP2015 registration page after early April.
