About the workshop

In 1998 the signatures of three nucleon forces (3NFs) in few nucleon scattering were pointed out by H. Witala et al.

for the first time in nucleon-deuteron elastic scattering. Clear signals from 3NFs were found around the cross section minimum occurring at intermediate energies. Since then experimental studies of nucleon-deuteron elastic scattering

as well as deuteron breakup reactions have been performed extensively at several facilities, e.g. RIKEN, RCNP, KVI, IUCF.

The importance of 3NFs has also been noted in descriptions of the binding of light mass nuclei as well as the empirical saturation point of symmetric nuclear matter.

Clearly recent achievements of nuclear physics study shows that various fundamental properties of nuclei should be understood based on nucleon-nucleon interactions as well as three nucleon interactions.

In the workshop new aspects of few nucleon interactions which should be extensively studied in the next decades

will be discussed.
