All-charm Tetraquarks at the CMS Experiment

CMS, the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, operates at the Large Hadron Collider of CERN. It has been designed to answer important questions about our Universe. With its huge detector and unique magnet system the exploration of a wide range of physics topics is possible, from searches for new phenomena or resonances, to precision studis of the standard model particles. The presentation will feature on the recent discovery of the all-charm tetraquark family. CMS observed three resonances in the J/ψJ/ψ → 4μ channel, X(6600), X(6900) and X(7100), as well as the strong interference effects among them, indicating that they share the same quantum numbers. A spin–parity analysis favors a JPC=2++ assignment, a rare quantum number among known hadrons. Taken together, these findings strongly support the interpretation of these states as a family of all-charm tetraquarks, offering new insights into the dynamics of exotic hadrons.
