Although all the detectors are to be thoroughly tested before they are installed,
performance of the detector components will be examined with beams, first with low beam current
and later with the full beam current of around 30 A. At this stage, it is important to
tune the HV settings for each PMT and then adjust the timing for logics.
In addition, the drift chamber operating condition under the required beam intensity environment
is to be optimized, that is, HV, threshold voltages and timing of the start signals.
Furthermore, the threshold level for water and aerogel Cerenkov counters will be adjusted
with real events so as to optimize the rejection efficiencies against pions and protons but still
keep high efficiencies for kaons.
