Asian Nuclear Physics Association (ANPhA), organized by eight member counties/regions (Australia, China, Korea, India, Japan Mongolia, Taiwan and Vietnam) at present, is going to hold an gAsian Nuclear Physics Association Symposiumh in Japan. The main objectives of ANPhA are to strengthen collaboration among Asian nuclear research scientists, to promote education in Asian nuclear science, to encourage coordination among Asian nuclear scientists by utilizing existing research facilities, and to discuss future planning of facilities and instrumentation for nuclear science in Asia. To achieve these goals, ANPhA organizes an international symposium almost every year, each member country taking turns in hosting the symposium. In 2016, the 8th ANPhA symposium will be held at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, as a post symposium of the International Symposium on Neutron Star Matter (NSMAT2016).

Collaboration for nuclear physics researches in Asia

Host

The symposium is hosted by Asian Nuclear Physics Association (ANPhA).

co-hosted by Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University

Venue

The ANPhA2016 symposium is held at the gAoba Science Hallh in the Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, located at Aobayama in Sendai city, Japan. You can easily reach the venue by gTozaih-line subway from Sendai JR station, where you can reach from Tokyo via gTohoku Shinkansenh (~1.5 hours) or from Sendai Airport via the Sendai airport access train (~30 min). Please get off the Tozai-line subway at gAobayamah station, the 5th stop from Sendai station to the west direction (for gYagiyamah). After getting onto the ground, please find a round-shaped building (H-04, Science Complex C) nearby. The venue is at the entrance floor (2F) of this building.

ANPhA2016 scientific sessions and

Sakunami discussion session

The scientific sessions start at 13:00 on Thursday and end at noon on Friday. The ANPhA board members will arrange invited talks from each country/region.

Participants in ANPhA2016 are encouraged to also join the International Symposium on Neutron Star Matter (NSMAT2016)

http://lambda.phys.tohoku.ac.jp/nstar/NSMAT2016/

held from 21st (Monday) though 24th(Thursday) morning. The main part of NSMAT2016 (from Monday to the early afternoon on Wedneday) will be held at the same venue as ANPhA20116, while the last part of NSMAT2016 named gSakunami discussion sessionh (from the late afternoon on Wednesday through the morning on Thursday) will be held at a hot-spring hotel at Sakunami. The participants in the Sakunami discussion session will move by bus to the hot spring hotel, gIchinoboh at Sakunami, located in the suburb of Sendai, and stay there for one night together. We will have plenty of time for discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. The participants will come back to Sendai after breakfast well before the ANPhA2016 begins..

Since the banquet held in the Sakunami discussion session also serves as a welcome party for ANPhA2016, we strongly recommend the ANPhA participants to join the Sakunami discussion session as well.

Registration

No registration fee is required. Participants are requested to register through this registration page. You can also registerthe other pre-symposia (SNP School 2016, NSMAT2016) and Sakunami discussion session from this page together. Your hotel room can be also booked through this registration page, if you need. The registration deadline is October 15th for those who will attend Sakunami session and/or book your hotel rooms.

The registration fee for NSMAT2016 is 7,000 yen, and in addition the participants in the Sakunami discussion session need to pay 16,000 yen per person for one-night lodging at the hot-spring hotel including Japanese-style dinner and breakfast. The registration fee for NSMAT2016 and for Sakunami need to be paid in cash (Japanese yen only) at the NSMAT2016 registration desk of during the symposium.

Accommodation

Many hotels are available in the downtown and near the Sendai station and you may book your hotel room by yourself. However, particularly for foreign participants, the organizer booked some number of rooms at our recommended hotel, gArc Hotel Sendaih (about 7,400 yen per night) and some others, which are reasonably priced and located near the downtown and close to a subway station.
